Getting Ready for Your Engagement Session
My Approach
I’m so excited you’re here. Engagement sessions are meant to feel easy, personal, and
very you.
This page walks you through how to prepare so you can show up relaxed and enjoy the experience fully.
You don’t need to overthink it. I’ve got you.
What to Expect
Your engagement session is designed to feel more like a slow walk and conversation than a photoshoot. I’ll give light direction when needed and plenty of space for natural moments in between.
Expect movement. Walking. Laughing. Pausing when it feels right. We’ll build the session around how you naturally interact, not stiff poses.
Choosing Your Outfits
The goal is to look like yourselves on your best day.
A few things to keep in mind:
Choose outfits you feel confident and comfortable in
Neutral tones photograph beautifully and feel timeless
Soft textures like linen, cotton, silk, or knits add depth on camera
Avoid loud logos or busy patterns that pull focus
I recommend coordinating, not matching. Think complementary colors and similar levels of dressiness.
You’re welcome to bring a second outfit if you’d like a mix of casual and elevated. Quick changes are always built in naturally.
Need Outfit Ideas?
If you’re feeling stuck or just want a starting point, I’ve put together an Amazon storefront with engagement-session-approved outfit options that photograph beautifully.
It includes:
Dresses, layers, and textures that move well on camera
Neutral and earthy color palettes
Outfit pairings that work together without feeling matchy
You’re welcome to shop directly from it or use it purely for inspiration.
The little things
After the Session
You’ll receive a sneak peek shortly after your session so you can relive it right away.
Your full gallery will follow with all final images delivered through a private online gallery where you can download, share, and print with ease.
One Last Thing
This session is about documenting this season as it actually feels. Not perfection. Not performance. Just you two, exactly where you are right now.
If you have questions at any point, I’m always an email away. I can’t wait to photograph this chapter for you.
